OUR WORK

WE FIRMLY BELIEVE

THAT EVERY PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO HAVE A BIBLE HE CAN READ AND UNDERSTAND

We’ve come to understand that while it is possible to share the message of salvation without the Bible, discipling new converts who cannot read the Bible is very difficult. To make passionate, serious followers of Jesus, new believers need the Bible.

Therefore, the Hazel Soper Foundation works on the first translation of the Greek texts of the New Testament into easy and short Spanish sentences, aiming for a second grade reading level.

READING WORKSHOPS

According to the Large Integrated Household Survey of 2013 (GEIH for its acronym in Spanish), 5.7% of the population of Colombia or over 2 million of people remain illiterate. Our mission is to provide access for people with low reading skills to a Bible they can read and understand by themselves. From the humanitarian standpoint, the benefits of literacy are enormous. After a saving relationship with Jesus, nothing else can do more to lift people out of unemployment, poverty, abuse, teenage pregnancies, etc. than teaching them to read.

Changing lives through literacy and the Gospel.

OUR WORK WITH THE DEAF

EVERYTHING WE DO IS WITH THEM IN MIND

Our heart of love and compassion for the Deaf is what started us in this mission. The Deaf are a largely unreached people group which has suffered from all kinds of abuse and rejection. They are a community that needs to know that there is a loving God who wants to show them how much he loves them and how important they are to him.
