The Bible is God’s main channel of communication with us, to encourage us, show us his love, and transform our lives. Everyone needs a Bible that is easy to read and understand.  As people read the Bible and obey its message, their lives are transformed, also transforming their communities and society. 

The Easy Spanish Bible is a completely new Bible translation, faithful to the original Greek text while using a limited vocabulary and short sentences. Its accuracy has been verified by external Bible consultants. The Easy Spanish Bible was produced especially for people who need a Bible that is easier to read than other available Spanish translations.  The Deaf community is one example of many people in Latin America who have been underserved by the educational system and therefore need this kind of translation.

To ensure that our publications are understandable for our target audience, we run various checks with different community members where we carefully revise every word and sentence, and adjust the text according to the feedback they give us. Our translation unpacks the source using a limited vocabulary of everyday words, short sentences, simple sentence structures, and notes located next to the word we want to explain. These and other changes lower the reading level required to understand the text.

Even though this translation was prepared for the specific audience of basic level readers, many people outside that group still love to read the Word of God in this version. They say that the meaning of the text is much clearer and the text itself is easier to read than many other Bibles. One reason for this is that the Easy Spanish Bible attempts to remove ambiguities. That is, when a verse is unclear or has multiple possible meanings, the translators rely upon the best scholarly opinion available. They select the most likely meaning and make that meaning clear.
